Alabama Launchpad

Alabama Launchpad is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting high-growth entrepreneurship and innovation in Alabama. As the state's most active early-stage seed fund, it offers a platform for entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into successful businesses. Through its competitions, Alabama Launchpad provides non-dilutive funding, mentorship, and resources to help startups thrive.

The organization conducts three startup competitions annually, each focusing on specific industry tracks: life sciences, technology, and consumer goods. These competitions offer tailored mentorship and funding opportunities, with prize amounts of $100,000 for life sciences, $75,000 for technology, and $50,000 for consumer goods. Since its inception in 2006, Alabama Launchpad has awarded over $6.4 million to more than 120 startups, contributing to the creation of over 1,600 jobs and an estimated valuation exceeding $1 billion.

Alabama Launchpad operates as a program of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA), collaborating with the state's research universities and the business community to foster innovation and economic growth. Its mission is to help high-growth companies start, stay, and grow in Alabama, thereby driving job creation and prosperity across the state.
