Allston Venture Fund

An investment collaborative focused on providing both pre-seed funding and equity-free grants to ventures led by Harvard students. Backed by firms such as Bain Capital Ventures, General Catalyst, GETTYLAB, Highland Capital, Polaris Partners, and Underscore VC, the fund aims to support innovative ideas across various industries and stages. All Harvard students, regardless of their participation in Harvard Innovation Labs’ programming, are eligible to apply for the Allston Venture Fund. The fund is independent from Harvard and solely responsible for the selection of applicants to present to the committee and for all investment decisions. No Harvard employee, faculty member, or student serves on the investment committee. The Allston Venture Fund is managed by the Harvard Innovation Labs, an institution that promotes team-based and entrepreneurial activities among Harvard students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and members of the Allston and Greater Boston communities. The i-Lab has incubated more than 4,000 teams and early-stage companies, collectively raising over $7 billion. The Allston Venture Fund is part of this broader initiative to foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the Harvard community.
