Investor Details
Amplifyher Ventures is a venture capital firm dedicated to investing in diverse leadership teams with the unique ability to create flywheel effects of growth in new markets. Recognizing that only 15% of VC dollars go to gender-mixed teams, despite these teams outperforming all-male founding teams by 63%, Amplifyher Ventures views women not as under-funded but as untapped potential. The firm is committed to increasing the representation of women in the C-suite, aiming to address the significant gap where women make up one in five C-suite leaders and less than 5% of CEOs. By providing resources and capital, Amplifyher Ventures empowers outstanding women to build their own C-suites, seizing the current inflection point in venture for female empowerment.
The firm's investment focus areas include commerce, care, and connectivity. In commerce, Amplifyher Ventures supports companies like Crown Affair, which offers clean hair care rituals for an easy everyday routine, and Thousand Fell, which designs recyclable sneakers intended to never go to landfill. In the care sector, the firm backs Leal, a platform matching patients with the right clinical trials using AI, and MyndYou, which provides personalized cognitive care to seniors using artificial intelligence. In connectivity, Amplifyher Ventures invests in companies such as Creatively, a platform connecting top creative talent with leading brands, and Solstice, which makes community solar accessible for all.
Amplifyher Ventures was founded in 2018 by Tricia Black, who previously held executive sales and marketing roles at Collegiate Advantage, Student Advantage, and Y2M Youth Media & Marketing. Tricia was the first VP of Sales at Facebook, where she built the company's early sales team and cultivated initial advertising relationships. Meghan Cross, a partner at Amplifyher Ventures, leads investment strategy and operations. Prior to joining the firm, Meghan was Managing Director at Red Bear Angels, leading investments into over 25 companies, including Lyft and Datalogue. She has also been involved in marketing teams for Skype and Foursquare and has lectured at Columbia University and Yeshiva University. The firm's advisors include Howard Morgan, founder of First Round Capital and Chairman of B Capital.
Amplifyher Ventures has invested in a diverse portfolio of companies across various sectors, including commerce, care, and connectivity. The firm's focus on diverse leadership teams and its commitment to empowering women in the C-suite have positioned it as a significant player in the venture capital landscape, particularly in supporting high-growth startups built by visionary women.
