Angel Academe

Angel Academe is a UK-based angel investor network established in 2014, dedicated to supporting technology startups with at least one female founder. The network comprises over 400 active members, predominantly women, who are entrepreneurs, senior leaders, and individuals pursuing portfolio careers. Angel Academe aims to address the gender imbalance in startup funding by providing a unique pool of engaged investors to female founders.

The network primarily invests in early-stage technology businesses, including sectors such as fintech, health, education, cyber security, clean tech, and enterprise. Investment rounds typically range from £250,000 upwards, with individual investments between £70,000 and £350,000. Angel Academe often acts as a lead or co-investor and actively participates in follow-on investment rounds. The investment process is transparent and founder-friendly, involving structured due diligence and post-investment support.

Since its inception, Angel Academe has invested in over 50 innovative tech companies, with notable portfolio companies including Provenance, Century Tech, The Dots, and Good-Loop. The network has also achieved successful exits, such as the acquisitions of BuyMyWardrobe and Akoni. By focusing on female-founded startups, Angel Academe not only seeks strong financial returns but also aims to empower women entrepreneurs and promote diversity in the tech industry.
