Axis is a venture capital subsidiary of the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), dedicated to fostering the growth, development, and internationalization of Spanish companies. Established in 1986, Axis has invested over €3.9 billion in more than 280 companies and funds, primarily through its four main funds: Fond-ICO Next Tech, Fond-ICO Global, Fond-ICO Pyme, and Fond-ICO Sostenibilidad e Infraestructuras. These funds aim to support innovative, technology-based companies across various stages of development, from early-stage ventures to established enterprises seeking expansion.

The firm's investment strategy encompasses both direct investments in companies and projects, as well as indirect investments in funds that subsequently invest in companies. This approach allows Axis to mobilize public and private resources effectively, with commitments to manage funds totaling over €12.15 billion. The focus areas include sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, greentech, and marketplace models, aligning with the firm's objective to promote the revitalization and consolidation of Spain's private venture capital ecosystem.
