Axis Participaciones Empresariales S.G.E.I.C., S.A., S.M.E. is a venture capital firm wholly owned by the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), dedicated to fostering the growth, development, and internationalisation of Spanish companies. Established in 1986, Axis has been operating in the venture capital market for over 39 years, investing more than 3.9 billion euros in over 280 companies and funds. As a subsidiary of the ICO Group, Axis collaborates with the venture capital sector in all areas of activity, managing funds exceeding 12.15 billion euros across four funds, aiming to mobilise over 26.6 billion euros in public and private resources over the next five years, depending on the capacity to absorb resources and materialise projects in the private sector.

Axis manages four funds that deliver its two basic lines of investment: direct (in companies and projects) and indirect (in funds that then invest in companies). These funds include Fond-ICO Next Tech, Fond-ICO Global, Fond-ICO Crecimiento, and Fond-ICO Sostenibilidad e Infraestructuras. Fond-ICO Next Tech focuses on fostering the development of innovative, high-impact digital projects and investment in growth companies (scale-ups). Fond-ICO Global is the first public venture capital fund of funds created in Spain. Fond-ICO Crecimiento provides backing for enterprises' expansion plans, offering finance and a long-term business vision. Fond-ICO Sostenibilidad e Infraestructuras aims to participate in projects involving transport infrastructure, energy, social aspects, and services.

Throughout its history, Axis has been instrumental in revitalising and consolidating the private ecosystem of venture capital funds in Spain, supporting the creation and growth of highly innovative and technology-based companies. Its investment strategy encompasses various sectors, including technology, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications, media, retail, transportation, real estate, education, agriculture, tourism, and biotechnology. The firm focuses on early-stage investments, including seed, early stage, and growth stages, with investment sizes ranging from 750,000 euros to 40 million euros, depending on the specific fund and project.
