BackBone Ventures

BackBone Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm based in Zurich and Frankfurt am Main. Founded in 2018, the firm began by investing on a deal-by-deal basis and has since invested in 26 teams, primarily in Switzerland, as well as in Germany, the United States, and Israel. In September 2022, BackBone Ventures launched the Backbone Ventures 5502 Fund, a €20 million pre-seed fund focusing on Germany and Switzerland. The firm aims to empower underrepresented founders by investing in entrepreneurs who have consistently outperformed their peers despite facing structural disadvantages based on gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background.
