BANSEA

Established in 2001, BANSEA is the oldest angel investment network in Southeast Asia, dedicated to promoting the development of the angel investment community in the region. The network comprises over 100 members and has invested in more than 400 companies, supporting over 15,000 founders. BANSEA's mission is to strengthen the cohesion of the local angel community, generate quality deal flows for its members through a rigorous screening process, and assist in deal syndication and due diligence. The network also provides a platform for entrepreneurs to present their investment proposals and offers training and mentoring for new business angels and entrepreneurs. BANSEA organizes 10 to 12 events annually, where members meet and listen to pitches from startups shortlisted by a screening committee. Members may invest individually or collaborate on due diligence, but each exercises autonomy in making investment decisions. Startups that successfully raise seed capital through BANSEA members also benefit from value-added mentoring. The network has connections to angel groups in China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and close links to groups in Europe and the United States. BANSEA's members have investment experience spanning multiple sectors and a track record in building successful companies. Membership is by invitation and recommendation from existing members, and is open to angel investors who share the vision of actively engaging in activities that promote the development of the business community both locally and internationally.
