Berlin Founders Fund

The Berlin Founders Fund (BFF) was established in 2019 to provide early-stage founders in Berlin with equity-free capital, local support, and access to a global network. The fund aimed to support 30 founders over two years, offering each team up to €72,000 in non-equity funding. BFF focused on sectors such as technology, healthcare, consumer goods, fintech, e-commerce, media, education, mobility, sustainability, food & beverage, real estate, logistics, entertainment, travel, and sports. The fund was committed to helping founders navigate challenges and scale their businesses effectively.

In June 2023, BFF concluded its operations in its original format. However, the experiences, vibrant community, and content cultivated through BFF continue to influence Berlin's startup ecosystem. The team has since embarked on a venture-building partnership with Fraunhofer HHI, aiming to further support and develop innovative startups in Berlin and beyond. This partnership reflects BFF's ongoing dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and technological advancement.

Throughout its tenure, BFF's portfolio companies have collectively raised over €100 million in follow-on funding, demonstrating the fund's impact and the success of its supported founders. The fund's approach combined financial support with hands-on guidance, leveraging a vast network of partners, founders, and investors to provide comprehensive assistance to early-stage startups. This holistic support model has been instrumental in helping numerous startups achieve significant growth and success in their respective industries.
