Cambridge Enterprise Ventures

Cambridge Enterprise Ventures is the investment arm of the University of Cambridge, dedicated to supporting the commercialization of university research and innovation. By investing ring-fenced University capital, they accelerate and share in the unique challenges and journeys of university talent startups and spinouts. Their investment options include Pathfinder (up to £20K), Pre-seed funding (up to £150K), Seed investment (up to £500K), and Follow-on Investment (up to £1M), always working alongside other investors to provide continued support as a company grows. They also collaborate with Parkwalk Advisors to deploy the University of Cambridge Enterprise Fund, which can double the financial support available for EIS.

Their portfolio includes 174 companies across a wide range of sectors, with a total value of £104 million. In 2023–24, they invested £6.5 million in 41 transactions and formed 25 new companies. Since 1995, they have managed investments made by the University Venture Fund into new companies, using ring-fenced University capital, with all returns supporting future Cambridge innovations. The fund holds several key investments, including companies in their sustainability portfolio.
