The Capricorn Sustainable Chemistry Fund (CSCF) is a venture capital fund managed by Capricorn Partners, focusing on early and growth-stage investments in sustainable chemistry and biotechnology sectors. The fund aims to create shareholder value by investing in companies that develop innovative technologies based on renewable resources, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy. CSCF's investment areas include food and feed ingredients, materials, and chemical products manufactured from renewable resources or through sustainable processes.

Established in 2016, CSCF held its first closing at €50 million, with the final closing in 2019 at €86.5 million. The fund's investors include Quest for Growth, Siam Cement Group, FPIM-SPFI, PMV, SRIW, and various family offices and entrepreneurs. CSCF has invested in companies such as ViroVet, cLEcta, DMC-BIO, and Black Bear Carbon, supporting innovations in sustainable protein supply chains, novel food and feed ingredients, circular economy, and efficient resource use.

CSCF is classified as an Article 8 fund under the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), promoting environmental and social characteristics. The fund integrates sustainability factors into its investment strategy through thematic focus and analysis of non-financial criteria during due diligence and portfolio management. While not having sustainable investment as its objective, CSCF aims to make a positive impact by focusing on fields relevant to society and contributing to environmental and social advancement, such as agro-biologics, waste valorization, and environmentally friendly packaging materials.
