Charlottesville Angel Network (CAN) is an angel investment group based in Charlottesville, Virginia, dedicated to supporting early-stage companies with high-growth potential. The network comprises over 70 accredited investors and family offices who make independent investment decisions. CAN has invested more than $20 million in nearly 80 startups, fostering innovation both locally and beyond.

CAN primarily invests in seed, angel, and friends & family rounds up through Series A in promising startups raising less than $5 million. The typical investment size ranges from $100,000 to $300,000 per round, often partnering with co-investors. While CAN has a particular affinity for Virginia-based companies, over half of its investments are in-state; it remains open to promising startups nationwide. The network's portfolio includes sectors such as SaaS, digital healthcare, biotech, aerospace, consumer products, clean energy, food and beverages, and more.
