Crystal Venture Partners is a New York-based venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments in technology-driven companies within the insurance sector. Their investments primarily fall into B2B categories, including technology companies developing infrastructure to facilitate the future of the insurance industry and software companies extracting and activating risk data to improve underwriting, claims, and service outcomes.

The firm invests between $1 million and $3 million at the Pre-Seed or Seed stages, backing founders from the inception of their ideas through the early construction of their business foundations. Crystal Venture Partners closed its first fund, Fund I, at $33 million in October 2025. The fund's LP base includes senior executives from global insurers, GPs from top venture and growth funds, and family offices with domain expertise. The firm has already made six investments out of Fund I: Sixfold, WithCoverage, Advance, Bright Harbor, Novella, and Charter. Before launching Crystal Venture Partners, Managing Partner Jonathan Crystal spent over 20 years inside the insurance industry, operating and ultimately selling a national brokerage. His track record as an early investor includes Flyreel (acquired by LexisNexis in 2022) and Corvus (acquired by Travelers in 2024).
