Decelera Menorca 2022

Decelera Menorca 2022 is a unique program for seed impact startups seeking to scale and grow. It invests in purpose-driven startups led by seasoned entrepreneurs working to solve the world’s greatest challenges with technology. The program offers a 'free of charge' 10-day event in Menorca, Spain, where the top 20 selected startups collaborate with other global and successful startups. Participants are eligible for a €150,000 convertible note, with the best performers potentially receiving follow-on capital of up to €2 million. The program is designed to help entrepreneurs disconnect from daily operations, reflect on their purpose and strategy, and gain new perspectives to scale their businesses sustainably. Entrepreneurs engage with an international team of advisors, successful entrepreneurs, and investors through unique daily activities aimed at fostering growth and innovation. The program has been running since 2015, with over 146 startups from 26 countries participating, and has organized more than 1,000 one-to-one meetings. In its tenth edition in May 2025, Decelera Menorca hosted 23 startups selected from thousands of applications, providing them with the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of top investors and participate in workshops, talks, and networking sessions designed to boost their businesses and promote sustainable growth. During the program, entrepreneurs engage in Decelera's deceleration methodology, which flows in three phases: Breathe, Focus, and Grow. This process allows founders to disconnect from daily noise, reflect on their purpose and strategy, and finally shape and voice their ideas to share them with the world and those who can help them grow. The program has a strong track record of supporting startups with high impact potential, with two startups from the tenth edition, Anyformat and Valerdat, receiving direct investment from Decelera Ventures, reaffirming its commitment to supporting purpose-driven entrepreneurs. The program has also attracted participation from 13 international venture capital funds, including ABAC Nest, Faraday Venture Partners, Wayra, Nauta Capital, and Sabadell Venture Capital. Decelera Ventures, the organizing fund, has €38 million in capital to invest in tech startups with a focus on impact and sustainability. Since its inception in 2015, more than 15,000 startups from over 95 countries have presented their projects, and its current portfolio includes 28 companies. The program's success is evident in the increasing number of applications and the quality of startups participating each year, indicating its growing reputation and value among entrepreneurs seeking to scale their impact-driven businesses.
