DeveloPPP Ventures

DeveloPPP Ventures is a funding program jointly managed by DEG Impulse gGmbH and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The program aims to support young companies in scaling innovative business models within selected emerging markets, focusing on ventures that generate positive social or environmental impact and contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligible companies must be privately owned, profit-oriented, and have achieved proof of concept with initial revenues. They should present a viable business plan and financial projections, and be registered or plan to register in the target country prior to receiving investment. The program offers non-dilutive capital of €100,000, provided on a matching-funds basis, requiring participating companies to secure equivalent external investment.

Applications are accepted twice a year through an open ideas competition, with specific eligibility criteria and application processes detailed on the official develoPPP website. The program is implemented in various countries, including Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Tanzania, with support from impact investment experts such as VC4A and Greentec Capital.
