E-Trade & Startup Association of Uganda

The E-Trade & Startup Association of Uganda is a prominent organization dedicated to advancing the e-commerce sector in Uganda. Established in 2022, the association serves as a unified voice for e-commerce players and stakeholders, aiming to coordinate and propel the growth of the industry through advocacy, public education, and collaboration with multi-sectoral stakeholders. By addressing challenges and harnessing opportunities, the association contributes meaningfully to Uganda's economy, especially in the post-COVID era.

The association's objectives include setting the agenda for e-trade in Uganda, facilitating knowledge exchange among stakeholders, advocating for streamlined and fair regulations, promoting growth through networking and partnerships, and supporting talent development for young entrepreneurs. Membership offers benefits such as a united front for policy advocacy, opportunities for group representation at trade shows, access to networking events, knowledge sharing from peers and global industry leaders, and support for investor readiness and relations.

Notable members of the association include SafeBoda, Jumia, and Tugende, among others. These companies have been instrumental in driving e-commerce growth and job creation in Uganda. The association continues to collaborate with various stakeholders to foster a thriving digital economy and support the growth of e-commerce enterprises in the country.
