Fahad Alidi

Wa’ed Ventures is a $500 million venture capital firm wholly owned by Saudi Aramco, established in 2013 to promote economic diversification and new business growth in Saudi Arabia. The firm invests in high-growth tech startups across various sectors, including artificial intelligence, fintech, sustainability, and more. As of June 2024, Wa’ed Ventures manages a portfolio of over 75 companies, providing end-to-end support from funding to access to partner resources.

Under the leadership of Managing Director and CEO Fahad Alidi, who assumed his position in 2021, Wa’ed Ventures has been actively involved in significant funding rounds. In 2024, the firm participated in Abyan Capital’s $18 million Series A and U.A.E.-based proptech Stake’s $14 million Series A. Additionally, in October 2024, Wa’ed Ventures allocated $100 million for AI investments, reflecting its commitment to advancing technology in the region.

Fahad Alidi brings over 13 years of experience leading multiple projects and divisions in Saudi Aramco. Before joining Wa’ed Ventures, he served as head of integration and interface in Aramco’s Industrial Investments Program and led the integrated resource planning division at Aramco Power. Alidi is also a Global Fellow at the World Economic Forum, where he leads engagements with executives across more than 30 financial institutions and established the oil and gas climate-related financial risks workstream. His leadership continues to drive Wa’ed Ventures' mission to support and scale innovative startups in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
