Fisher Investments, founded in 1979 by Ken Fisher, is an independent, fee-only investment adviser headquartered in Plano, Texas. The firm manages over $362 billion in assets for more than 190,000 clients worldwide, including individuals, families, businesses, and institutions. Fisher Investments offers a range of services through its various business units, including the Private Client Group, which manages assets for high-net-worth individuals and families, and the Institutional Group, which serves organizations such as corporate, public, and multi-employer pension funds; foundations and endowments; insurance companies; healthcare organizations; governments; and investment companies. The firm's investment approach is guided by a five-member Investment Policy Committee, emphasizing asset allocation and a top-down investment strategy. Fisher Investments has expanded internationally with offices in multiple countries, including a wholly owned subsidiary, Fisher Investments Europe Limited, in London. As of June 2024, the firm was recognized as Active Manager of the Year by MoneyAge at its sixth annual Wealth & Asset Management Awards. In June 2024, Fisher Investments announced that Advent International and a unit of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority agreed to acquire a minority stake in the company, valuing it at $12.75 billion. Despite this investment, Ken Fisher remains the executive chairman and co-chief investment officer, and Damian Ornani continues as the CEO. The deal was expected to close later that year. Fisher Investments' portfolio is diversified across various sectors, with significant holdings in technology companies such as Microsoft, Apple, NVIDIA, Amazon, and Alphabet. The firm focuses on investments in the United States, with a substantial portion of its portfolio allocated to large-cap stocks. Fisher Investments' performance history has been impressive, consistently outperforming broader market indices over the long run.
