Francis Fund

Francis Fund is an angel fund that supports early-stage startups in the United Kingdom and Africa. The fund leverages its collective expertise and networks to source and invest in promising founders, aiming to accelerate their growth. The founding team comprises operators and investors with experience in building tech companies and investing in early-stage founders. They are alumni of the Newton VC programme, which is run by London Business School and LocalGlobe VC, designed to train the next generation of investors.

The fund's investment thesis focuses on backing founders who are solving meaningful problems and building remarkable companies. They syndicate pre-seed and seed-stage investments in tech startups, with initial ticket sizes ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 per deal. While sector agnostic, the fund has a bias towards fintech, healthtech, and edtech, areas where their expertise lies. Their investment approach is driven by the 3 Ps: People, Processes, and Products.

Francis Fund welcomes membership applications from investors who intend to invest at least $10,000 a year in the investments of their choice. Members are expected to support portfolio companies with introductions and advice and/or bring new members and venture-led opportunities to the network.
