GigAcquisitions LLC is a private investment firm specializing in technology-focused private-to-public equity transactions. The firm is managed by Dr. Avi Katz, a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with over 30 years of experience in the high-technology sector. Dr. Katz has been instrumental in launching and accelerating entities, building teams, large-scale fundraising, developing key alliances and technology partnerships, and overseeing mergers and acquisitions. He is also the Founding Managing Member of GigFounders, LLC, and GigNext, LLC.

The firm's investment strategy involves identifying and partnering with exceptional privately held technology companies, providing financial, operational, and executive mentoring to accelerate their path from inception to becoming publicly traded entities. This approach has been implemented through the formation of several special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), including GigCapital1, GigCapital2, GigCapital3, GigCapital4, GigCapital5, and GigCapital7. These SPACs have successfully completed business combinations with companies such as Kaleyra S.p.A., UpHealth Holding, Lightning eMotors, BigBear.ai, and QT Imaging.

Dr. Katz's track record includes founding GigOptix (later known as GigPeak), taking it public in 2008, and leading its growth through organic and strategic expansion, including 10 mergers and acquisitions. The company was sold in April 2017 for $250 million to Integrated Device Technology. Dr. Katz holds a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Semiconductors Materials Engineering from the Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology, and has authored more than 70 U.S. and international patents, published over 300 technical papers, and edited several technical books.
