GLIL Infrastructure LLP

GLIL Infrastructure LLP is a UK-based infrastructure investment joint venture established by five local government pension funds: Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Merseyside Pension Fund, West Yorkshire Pension Fund, Lancashire County Pension Fund, and London Pensions Fund Authority. The partnership focuses on investing in core infrastructure projects, primarily within the United Kingdom, aiming to provide stable, long-term returns for its members.

The fund's investment strategy encompasses a diverse range of sectors, including renewable energy, utilities, transportation, healthcare, education, ports, logistics, energy storage, telecommunications, water supply, waste management, social infrastructure, regulated utilities, greenfield investments, transport upgrades, and more. GLIL Infrastructure targets growth and buyout stages, seeking opportunities that align with its members' objectives and contribute to the UK's economic development.

Since its inception, GLIL Infrastructure has been actively involved in several significant investments. Notably, in December 2023, the fund formed a strategic partnership with Bluefield Solar to acquire a portfolio of 58 operational UK solar projects from Lightsource bp, demonstrating its commitment to renewable energy initiatives. Additionally, in July 2021, GLIL invested £150 million in Flexion Energy, a joint venture with ion Ventures, to scale UK energy storage infrastructure and support the transition to a net-zero economy. These investments reflect GLIL Infrastructure's dedication to supporting sustainable infrastructure projects that benefit both its members and the broader community.
