GrainInnovate

GrainInnovate is a $50 million venture capital fund established by the Grains Research & Development Corporation (GRDC) and managed by Artesian Venture Partners. The fund focuses on investing in startups that drive the future profitability and sustainability of Australia's grain growers. It invests from seed to growth stage in agrifood startups from Australia and globally, targeting areas such as genetic tools and technologies, crop and environmental sensing, grain storage logistics, renewable technologies, task automation, crop protection technologies, and water and nutrient use efficiency.

The fund's strategy includes investing in startups developing software, hardware, or new business models applicable to Australia's grain growers. It has invested in over 20 startups to date, including Australian companies like SwarmFarm and Farmlab, as well as international companies such as Argentina-based ZoomAgri and U.S.-based Regrow Ag. GrainInnovate's investments aim to address challenges in the grain industry by supporting innovative solutions that enhance productivity and sustainability.

GrainInnovate's partnership with GRDC and Artesian Venture Partners provides a strong foundation for its investment activities. The fund's portfolio companies benefit from access to GRDC's extensive agrifood network and Artesian's expertise in early-stage venture capital.
