Established in 2007, Inspired Evolution is a private equity firm dedicated to accelerating Africa's energy transition through investments in clean energy infrastructure, energy access, and resource efficiency projects. The firm operates across Sub-Saharan Africa, with offices in Cape Town, London, Nairobi, Abidjan, and Mauritius, and has financed over 10 GW of renewable energy generation projects.

Inspired Evolution's investment strategy focuses on three principal themes: developing and financing clean energy infrastructure projects, improving clean energy access, and maximizing growth in energy and resource efficiency. The firm targets equity investments across multiple growth stages, often as a lead investor seeking significant minority or majority stakes and board representation. Its portfolio spans various sectors, including solar, wind, fuel cells, biogas, biofuels, energy efficiency, waste, and water investments.

The firm's Evolution III Fund, which closed in March 2025 with commitments totaling $238 million, exemplifies its commitment to sustainable development. This fund has made significant investments, including a $30 million stake in Sedgeley Solar Group, a leading commercial and industrial solar platform in Southern Africa.
