Inua Capital is Uganda's first locally-based impact investment firm dedicated to supporting high-potential small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various economic sectors. Inua Capital is committed to building businesses that last, providing intense, hands-on operational and strategic support, mentorship, and participating on company boards. The firm also advances technical assistance grants to improve ESG sustainability, finance systems, and de-risk business models. Inua Capital shares its Africa-wide networks of suppliers, funders, and markets, offering peer-learning opportunities to its portfolio companies. Over the next decade, Inua Capital plans to invest in over 30 Ugandan SMEs, propelling their growth into national industry leaders employing over 1,500 Ugandans and supporting over 5,000 beneficiaries. The firm's portfolio includes companies like Forna Health Foods and Equator Chocolate, among others. Inua Capital is licensed and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority of Uganda, ensuring compliance with local financial regulations and standards. The firm's team comprises professionals with significant experience in investment banking, finance, business management strategy consulting, and private equity, garnered in Europe, the U.S., and Africa. Inua Capital is part of a pan-African network of SME investment vehicles supported by Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P), including Teranga Capital in Senegal, Sinergi in Niger, Sinergi Burkina in Burkina Faso, Comoé Capital in Côte d’Ivoire, and Miarakap in Madagascar. This network enables Inua Capital to leverage regional expertise and resources to support its portfolio companies effectively.
