Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund

The Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund is a government-backed venture capital fund in the Netherlands, established to support deep-tech companies with significant capital needs and high growth potential. The fund aims to strengthen the Dutch economy by investing in innovative companies that contribute to societal challenges such as sustainability, healthcare, and digital transformation. By providing substantial investments, the fund helps these companies navigate the 'valley of death' and achieve commercial success.

The fund focuses on eight key technologies identified in the National Technology Strategy: chemical technology, digital technology, quantum technology, photonics, nanotechnology, advanced materials, life sciences technologies, and engineering and manufacturing technologies. It seeks to invest in companies with a well-defendable technology and a disruptive business model, typically at a Technical Readiness Level (TRL) of 3-9. The fund's investment criteria emphasize the impact of the company's activities on societal transitions, the strength and diversity of the team, and the potential for innovation and employment generation.

With a capital base of €250 million, the Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund collaborates with an external investment committee comprising experts from various industries. This collaboration ensures that investments align with the fund's strategic objectives and contribute to the future earning capacity of the Netherlands. The fund's portfolio includes companies such as Forward.one Fund III, TracXon, QuiX Quantum, European Cyber Tech Fund V, Eyeo, and QuantWare, reflecting its commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancement in the country.
