Investor Details Founded: 2015

The Kafalat iSME Programme is a $30 million initiative funded by the Government of Lebanon and the World Bank, established in 2015 to encourage equity investment in early-stage, financially viable, innovative firms in Lebanon. The program offers equity co-investments alongside institutional investors such as venture capital funds, holding companies, business angel groups, and investment banks. To qualify for equity investment, entrepreneurs need a commitment from an institutional investor, after which they can approach the Kafalat iSME Programme.

In addition to equity co-investments, the program provides concept development grants of up to $15,000 for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, enabling them to develop their concepts and attract external investment. The Kafalat iSME Programme focuses on sectors such as technology, agriculture, and tourism, aiming to foster innovation and economic growth within Lebanon.

By leveraging both government and World Bank funding, the Kafalat iSME Programme plays a pivotal role in enhancing the Lebanese entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering essential support to startups and SMEs in their early stages of development.
