Karnataka Semiconductor Venture Capital Fund

The Karnataka Semiconductor Venture Capital Fund (KARSEMVEN Fund) is a SEBI-registered Alternative Investment Fund with a corpus of Rs. 92.95 crore. It focuses on investing in companies within the semiconductor, Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), and embedded systems sectors in the state of Karnataka. The fund is managed by Karnataka Asset Management Company Pvt Ltd and is backed by various state and central government institutions, including Karnataka Innovation & Technology Society (KITS), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

KARSEMVEN Fund primarily targets early and growth-stage startups, providing investments ranging from Rs. 2 crore to Rs. 9.2 crore per company. The fund does not invest in idea or seed-stage companies; instead, it focuses on businesses that are already generating revenue from their core activities. The investment instruments include equity, preference capital (convertible/redeemable), and debentures, adhering to the guidelines issued by the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
