Investor Details Founded: 2005

Established in 2005, Korea Venture Investment Corp. (KVIC) is a government-backed fund of funds management institution in South Korea. Its primary mission is to promote the development of the Korean venture capital and private equity fund industry by providing financial resources to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). KVIC manages approximately US$1.2 billion and has invested in over 160 funds, which have collectively invested in about 1,000 companies. The corporation focuses on technology-oriented ventures in sectors such as information and communication technology (ICT), display technologies, and biotechnology. Additionally, KVIC pursues investments in emerging areas like green energy and life sciences.

KVIC operates several investment programs, including the Korea Fund of Funds, which invests in venture capital funds globally, and the Overseas VC Global Fund, aimed at attracting foreign investment and facilitating international collaboration. Through these initiatives, KVIC contributes to the sustainable growth of South Korea's economy by fostering a dynamic and globally competitive venture capital environment. The corporation also manages the Global Fund, a program that invests in funds managed by outstanding overseas venture capital firms, with the requirement that an amount equal to or greater than the Fund of Funds' investment must be invested in Korean companies. Since 2013, the Global Fund has operated a total of 7.43 trillion won through 74 funds worldwide, contributing to the growth of domestic ventures and startups.

In August 2025, KVIC announced the 2025 Second Half Global Fund Investment Program, with a total scale of 76.8 billion won. The program aims to support overseas investment attraction and global expansion for Korean ventures and startups, playing a driving role in helping Korea become one of the world's top four global venture powerhouses. This initiative reflects KVIC's commitment to enhancing the global competitiveness of Korean startups and fostering international partnerships.
