Luiss Alumni 4 Growth

Luiss Alumni 4 Growth (LA4G) is an investment club managed by LA4G S.r.l., a company fully owned by Luiss Guido Carli University. The club focuses on investing in startups related to Luiss University, including those founded or co-founded by Luiss alumni, incubated or accelerated in Luiss-related facilities, or supported in the micro-seed or seed stages by 'angels' who are Luiss alumni or primary stakeholders. LA4G operates with a 'benefit' approach, dedicating 50% of the capital gains earned by club members to social mobility initiatives, particularly supporting students from disadvantaged communities to gain admission to Luiss University with full scholarships. This model aims to reinforce the sense of purpose within the Luiss alumni network and generate resources for pro-social projects.

The club's investment strategy involves a comprehensive process of scouting, screening, evaluation, negotiation, and deal closing. After investing, LA4G supports the business development of startups up to the exit stage, leveraging the unique network of alumni and corporate club members and partners. The club has a diverse portfolio of startups across various sectors, including technology, insurtech, fintech, healthtech, e-commerce, edtech, proptech, foodtech, cleantech, biotech, medtech, agtech, mobility, logistics, and entertainment. Notable portfolio companies include Insoore, an insurtech company that redesigns the document collection and claims management processes to make them fairer, more digital, and faster for all those involved.

In addition to its investment activities, LA4G has launched the LA4C platform, an equity crowdfunding initiative that allows Luiss alumni to co-invest in Luiss-related startups. This platform aims to further consolidate the leadership of Luiss alumni, reinforce the sense of purpose within the graduate network, and generate resources for pro-social projects. The first company featured on the platform is WeGlad, an open platform that collects and makes accessible data on the accessibility of streets and structures, helping users find the best routes for people with disabilities. This initiative reflects LA4G's commitment to supporting the development of the Italian startup ecosystem while pursuing social impact objectives.
