Majestic Brands Limited

Majestic Brands Limited (MBL) is a limited liability company established by the Buganda Kingdom to undertake innovative and competitive activities, aiming to harness the Buganda Brand for the benefit of its people. As a subsidiary of Buganda Investments & Commercial Undertakings (BICUL), the Kingdom’s holding company, MBL is mandated to improve existing products and services and design new ones that generate revenues for the Kingdom and employment for its people. This is achieved through various initiatives, including the Annual Development Fund, Buganda Brand Shop, and Sponsorships & Partnerships.

One of MBL's notable ventures is the production and distribution of Ngule beer, made from locally sourced ingredients like cassava and sorghum. In December 2022, MBL extended its partnership with Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) to manufacture Ngule, the Kingdom’s official beer. This collaboration supports local farmers by sourcing ingredients through UBL’s Local Raw Materials Program and contributes to the Kingdom's revenue through a revenue-sharing agreement. Since its launch, Uganda Breweries has paid royalties worth over UGX 1.062 billion (approximately US$288,000) to the Kingdom, per contractual obligations.

Through these initiatives, Majestic Brands Limited plays a pivotal role in facilitating economic empowerment and self-sustainable development within the Buganda Kingdom, aligning with its mission to build a relevant Kingdom that serves its people.
