Melvyn Lubega is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and investor, co-founder of Go1 and partner at Breega. He co-founded Go1, a leading online learning platform used by businesses, non-profit organizations, and governments in over 60 countries. Under his leadership, Go1 became the first South African unicorn, valued at over $2 billion, attracting significant investments from firms like SoftBank, Salesforce Ventures, and M12 (Microsoft Ventures). Prior to Go1, Lubega built, exited, and invested in leading fintech companies across Africa. He is currently a partner at Breega, a rapidly growing early-stage venture capital firm in Europe and Africa, managing over €500 million in assets. In May 2025, Lubega was appointed by the South African Presidency to lead the newly established Digital Service Unit (DSU), aiming to modernize the delivery of government services through digital public infrastructure.
