Blue is a leading investor for partnership investments in Danish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In close cooperation with management, Blue Equity provides network, knowledge, and capital to create value during the ownership period. Return on investment is generated by making good companies better. Blue establishes partnerships with management teams and owners to secure the mutual development of well-functioning companies. They are flexible regarding ownership structure and are willing to assume minority ownership positions. The companies must be mature, well-functioning, and have potential.

Blue invests in small and medium-sized exceptional Danish companies with revenue in the range of DKK 50 – 300 million. The focus is on B2B companies that will benefit from global mega-trends. In their evaluation of companies, they emphasize strong management, industry-knowledgeable management, and active participation in narrow niches requiring special competencies. Blue believes in investing in people rather than just companies.

Blue Equity was founded in 2013. The investors include Norlys, PFAs, Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation (Danfoss), Lind Invest, the management team of Blue, and a few other investors. Blue Equity Management A/S is the management company for SE Blue Equity I K/S (committed capital of DKK 625 million), Blue Equity II K/S (committed capital of DKK 707 million), both of which are fully invested, as well as Blue Equity III K/S (committed capital of DKK 750 million), which is currently being invested. The committed capital is from Danish investors, with an even distribution between pension funds, industrial investors, and funds.

At Blue, they believe that ESG and social responsibility are universal requirements for them as an actor in Danish society, while at the same time, ESG and social responsibility are key components in creating differentiation and increased returns. This is why they focus on ESG and social responsibility in their investments. Through their investment work and investment partnerships, they actively contribute to making the world slightly better through targeted initiatives in their investment enterprises in relation to ESG, including environmental and social aspects. They also aim to ensure that welfare and cohesiveness in Danish society are enhanced by providing smaller Danish enterprises with optimal opportunities to evolve and optimally exploit their potential.
