Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority

Established in 2011, the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) is an independent investment institution mandated to manage Nigeria's Sovereign Wealth Fund. The NSIA's primary objective is to receive, manage, and invest funds in a diversified portfolio of medium and long-term assets on behalf of the Federal Government, State Governments, Federal Capital Territory, and Local Government Area Councils. This initiative aims to prepare for the eventual depletion of Nigeria's hydrocarbon resources and to develop critical infrastructure that attracts and supports foreign investment, economic diversification, growth, and job creation.

The NSIA operates through three core funds: the Stabilisation Fund, the Future Generations Fund, and the Nigeria Infrastructure Fund. The Stabilisation Fund provides budget support during economic stress, the Future Generations Fund serves as an inter-generational savings fund for future generations of Nigerians, and the Nigeria Infrastructure Fund focuses on investing in domestic infrastructure. These funds collectively contribute to the NSIA's mission of driving sustained economic development for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Guided by the Santiago Principles, the NSIA adheres to international best practices in asset management and investment strategy. The Authority plays a pivotal role in advancing Nigeria's economic development, fostering strategic partnerships, and mobilising capital for high-impact projects across key sectors. Its commitment to transparency and governance has established it as a credible partner to leading private investors, private equity funds, and development finance institutions, both locally and internationally.
