North Bay Angels

North Bay Angels (NBA) is the oldest and largest angel investment group north of the Golden Gate, continuously operating since 1998. Formed by a group of North Bay executives and professionals, NBA aims to provide a forum for making seed capital and mentoring available to entrepreneurial companies in the North Bay region. Their primary goal is to promote the growth of local emerging companies that have the potential to become large, successful enterprises and employers, while also providing a return on investment for their members. NBA focuses on sectors such as communications, medical, and other technical areas, with several companies having grown into successful public entities that maintain their headquarters in the region.

NBA's investment strategy involves providing seed capital and mentoring to promising companies, filling a gap in the financing spectrum that institutional venture capital funds often overlook. They prioritize opportunities related to telecommunications, software, internet, optics, and medical devices/services, areas already established in the North Bay. Companies seeking investment typically present plans to achieve meaningful business milestones with capital infusions ranging from $250,000 to $2,000,000, aiming to create 10 or more high-value jobs.
