Odunayo Eweniyi

Odunayo Eweniyi is a Nigerian entrepreneur and activist, renowned for her significant contributions to the African tech ecosystem. She co-founded PiggyVest, Nigeria's largest digital savings and micro-investment platform, which has revolutionized financial management for millions of Nigerians by providing accessible tools for saving and investing. Under her leadership as Chief Operations Officer, PiggyVest has grown to serve over 5 million users, offering services that include automated savings, fixed deposits, and investments in sectors such as agriculture and transportation.

In addition to her role at PiggyVest, Odunayo co-founded FirstCheck Africa, a pre-seed and seed-stage investment fund dedicated to supporting high-growth tech startups with at least one female co-founder. This initiative aims to close the gender funding gap in the African tech industry by empowering female entrepreneurs with the capital and support they need to succeed. Her commitment to gender equality and social justice is further demonstrated through her co-founding of The Feminist Coalition, a group advocating for women's rights in Nigeria, focusing on education, financial freedom, and representation in public office.

Odunayo's entrepreneurial journey began after graduating with a first-class degree in Computer Engineering from Covenant University in 2013. She co-founded PushCV, one of Africa's largest online job platforms, before establishing PiggyVest in 2016. Her innovative approach and leadership have earned her numerous accolades, including being named one of Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 in Technology in 2019, a TIME100 Next honoree in 2021, and receiving the Forbes Woman Africa Technology and Innovation Award in 2022. She was also featured on Bloomberg Business Weekly's 2020 Bloomberg50 list, recognizing innovators and leaders who have significantly impacted the global business landscape.
