Old College Capital

Old College Capital is the University of Edinburgh's in-house venture investment fund, established in 2011 to support the commercialization of research and innovation from the university. The fund focuses on early-stage companies, particularly spinouts and startups associated with the university and the broader Edinburgh ecosystem. It manages assets under management of £70 million and supports over 75 transactions annually.

The fund typically invests between £50,000 and £250,000 in sectors such as biotechnology, energy, data, AI, robotics, and fintech. It follows a co-investment model, partnering with experienced private sector investors to leverage the greatest support for companies within the University of Edinburgh ecosystem. Old College Capital is an active and engaged shareholder, providing strategic capital and mentorship to its portfolio companies.
