Olumide Soyombo

Olumide Soyombo is a Nigerian entrepreneur and venture capitalist with nearly two decades of experience in building and managing businesses and investing in high-impact projects and startups. He co-founded Bluechip Technologies in 2008, a company that provides data warehousing and business analytics solutions for banks, telecommunication companies, and insurance firms across Africa. Under his leadership, Bluechip has partnered with companies like Oracle and Microsoft, and has expanded its operations to multiple African countries, including Kenya, Ghana, and Zambia.

In 2014, Soyombo began angel investing, initially launching LeadPath as a vehicle to invest in local tech startups. Over the years, he has invested in over 30 startups, including Paystack, PiggyVest, TeamApt, Mono, Trove, and Lemonade Finance. In 2021, he co-founded Voltron Capital, a pan-African venture capital firm focused on pre-seed and seed investments in tech startups across Africa. Voltron Capital has invested in over 50 startups, primarily in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and North Africa, with ticket sizes ranging from $20,000 to $100,000.

Soyombo holds a B.Sc. in Systems Engineering from the University of Lagos and an M.Sc. in Business and Information Technology from Aston University in Birmingham, England. His investment philosophy emphasizes supporting innovative entrepreneurs addressing critical problems in large markets, with a particular focus on sectors such as fintech, e-commerce, and healthcare. Through his ventures, Soyombo continues to play a significant role in shaping Africa's tech ecosystem, fostering growth and innovation across the continent.
