The Ontario Capital Growth Corporation (OCGC) is the venture capital agency of the Government of Ontario, established to promote and develop the venture capital sector within the province. Its primary objective is to assist high-potential technology companies in accessing the capital necessary for growth and success. Through its investment activities, OCGC has contributed over $300 million to emerging technology businesses, supporting the development of globally recognized companies such as Shopify and ecobee.

OCGC employs a strategic approach by investing in market-based venture capital funds managed by private sector fund managers. This includes partnerships with funds like the Ontario Venture Capital Fund LP, the Northleaf Venture Catalyst Fund LP, and the ScaleUp Venture Fund I LP. Additionally, OCGC manages the Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund, focusing on sectors such as clean technology, life sciences, digital media, and information and communications technology.
