OQAL Angel Investors Network

Established in 2011, OQAL Angel Investors Network is the first angel investment network in Saudi Arabia, founded by a group of young businessmen and angel investors. The name 'OQAL' is a conjunction of two Arabic words: 'Oqool' (Minds) and 'Amwal' (Capital), reflecting the organization's mission to connect innovative startup founders with seasoned angel investors. The network aims to bridge the financing gaps for early-stage startups, fostering economic growth and innovation within the region.

OQAL offers various membership tiers, including the Angel Investor Membership, which is granted to individual investors with prior experience in venture investments, angel investing, scaling startups, and developing founding teams. Members gain access to promising investment opportunities, participate in syndicates, and engage in knowledge sharing within a community of active angel investors and partners. The network also provides access to investment facilitation services and programs, as well as events and gatherings across Saudi Arabia and the region.

Through its Angel Co-Investment Program, OQAL collaborates with the Saudi Venture Capital Company (SVC) to co-invest in startups with high-growth potential, aiming to fill equity funding gaps in the seed stage. This program supports the promotion of angel investing in Saudi Arabia by mitigating risks associated with early-stage investments and contributing to the diversification of the investment portfolio.
