Otium Capital

Otium Capital is a long-term investment holding company founded in 2009 by Pierre-Edouard Stérin, the founder of Smartbox. With over €1.5 billion in assets under management as of April 30, 2024, Otium Capital has invested in more than 100 companies, including the Smartbox group and stakes in French unicorns PayFit and Owkin. The firm invests amounts ranging from a few hundred thousand euros to several tens of millions of euros, funding companies at every stage of their development, from seed funding to growth capital. Otium Capital takes either majority or minority stakes with no holding period constraints. The firm pursues a diversification strategy by financing projects in sectors such as technology, industrials, leisure, healthcare, hospitality, and real estate. In 2023, Otium Capital invested €190 million.

In June 2024, Otium Capital announced a successful €250 million syndicated loan, enabling the firm to accelerate its investment strategy across multiple attractive sectors, notably through Resonance and FEBE Ventures in the technology sector, as well as in reindustrialization, healthcare, real estate, and local leisure activities. This operation also allowed Otium Capital to continue supporting and developing its portfolio companies, particularly key holdings such as Otium Leisure, Alféor, Comet Software, and Enosium Life Science. The financial support from leading European banks demonstrated the relevance of Otium Capital's investment strategy and its strong development potential.
