Parallel18 Ventures

Parallel18 Ventures is an international innovation hub headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, dedicated to fostering economic and social growth by supporting underrepresented founders globally. Established in 2015 as a program of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology, and Research Trust, Parallel18 offers a range of initiatives designed to empower entrepreneurs at various stages of their journey. These initiatives include pre-acceleration programs for local startups, a five-month acceleration program for international startups, and a post-acceleration growth program. Through these programs, Parallel18 provides grants, high-quality business training, mentorship, and access to a vast network of investors and corporate partners. Over the years, the organization has supported more than 400 startups, distributed $13.7 million in grants, and facilitated a total investment raise of $210 million. Notable alumni include BrainHi, Syrona Health, and Wisboo.

Parallel18 focuses on providing funding, mentorship, business connections, and investment to underrepresented founders around the globe. The organization operates in various sectors, including Advertising, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Big Data & Analytics, Cybersecurity, E-Commerce, FinTech, Internet of Things, and Software as a Service. Investment stages range from Seed to Series B, with typical investment sizes between $40,000 and $2 million. The geographical focus includes Puerto Rico, the United States, and international markets.

Parallel18 is also recognized for its initiative #workhardplaytropical, emphasizing the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Puerto Rico.
