Patronus AI is an automated evaluation and security platform that assists enterprises in deploying large language models (LLMs) safely and confidently. The platform enables development teams to assess model performance, generate adversarial test cases, and benchmark models, automating and scaling traditional evaluation methods to minimize risks associated with model failures and misaligned outputs.

Founded by machine learning experts from Meta, Anand Kannappan and Rebecca Qian, Patronus AI has secured a total of $20 million in funding. This includes a $3 million seed round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners in September 2023, and a $17 million Series A round led by Glenn Solomon at Notable Capital in May 2024. The Series A round also saw participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Datadog, Gokul Rajaram, Factorial Capital, and several leading software and AI executives.

The company plans to utilize the additional capital to scale its AI research, engineering, and sales teams, train evaluation models, and develop new industry-standard benchmarks. Patronus AI's mission is to empower the world with tools to use AI safely and confidently, leading the way in shaping a trustworthy AI landscape.
