Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is an independent unit within the Pictet Group, focusing on alternative investments such as private equity, hedge funds, and real estate. Established in 1991, PAA manages approximately USD 48 billion in alternative strategies, including USD 27 billion in private equity, USD 15 billion in hedge funds, USD 4 billion in real estate assets, and USD 1 billion in private debt as of 31 March 2025. The firm employs around 200 alternative investment specialists and operates globally, with offices in Geneva, Zurich, and London.

PAA's investment approach is characterized by a fund-of-funds model, selecting third-party investment managers to construct diversified portfolios for clients. In January 2023, PAA expanded its direct private equity team by hiring five experienced investment professionals, including Edmund Buckley as Global Co-Head of Private Equity and Head of Direct Private Equity. This expansion aims to strengthen PAA's direct private equity capabilities and enhance its investment offerings for clients.
