Pohutukawa Private Equity I & II are New Zealand-based private equity funds managed by Direct Capital, focusing on mid-market growth investments in New Zealand and Australia. The investment strategy involves targeting small to medium-sized enterprises across various sectors, including printwear, retirement villages, construction services, health services, and equipment rental. The funds have invested in companies such as AS Colour Holdings Limited, Qestral Corporation, Beca Group, Caci Group Holdings Limited, and TR Group Limited.

Pohutukawa I successfully closed in October 2004 with $53 million raised, achieving a net internal rate of return of 12.6% per annum over its 15-year life. Pohutukawa II closed in February 2009 with $82.5 million raised. The funds are managed by Direct Capital, with the board comprising Neil Craig and Ken Phillip, who oversee the administration and treasury functions of the funds.
