Polish Development Fund

The Polish Development Fund (PFR) is a state-owned development institution established in 2016 to support investments that foster Poland's economic development. It provides capital, financial tools, and solutions to support enterprises and local governments in their development. PFR also offers advisory services and educational programs to help build competencies, increase innovation, and boost the competitiveness of market participants. The fund promotes sustainable development, digitalization, and the country's long-term economic growth. PFR's headquarters is located in Warsaw, Poland.

PFR operates through several subsidiaries, including PFR Ventures, which invests in the domestic venture capital and private equity market, and PFR TFI, which manages investment funds and supports long-term savings. The fund's activities are focused on stimulating economic growth and contributing to the creation of new jobs in Poland. PFR's priorities include infrastructure, innovation and entrepreneurship, export and foreign expansion of Polish enterprises, support for local governments, implementation of the Employee Capital Plans program, and handling foreign investments. The fund manages assets under management totaling approximately $5.3 billion.

PFR has undertaken capital investments in innovative companies such as PESA Bydgoszcz, Chmura Krajowa, and WB Group. It has also managed investments in the innovation ecosystem through investments in startups and the development of innovation in Poland. Within the PFR Green Hub strategy, the fund promotes investments in the construction of the renewable energy sector, supporting the creation of wind and solar farms, waste transformation, and investments in startups related to renewable energy sources. PFR's activities also include the development of innovation and support for increasing the level of digitalization in companies and local authorities, as well as support for the creation and development of start-ups.
