Established in 2018, it operates as part of ProVeg International, a non-governmental organization focused on transforming the global food system. The incubator's mission is to reduce global animal consumption by 50% by 2040 by fostering innovative companies developing alternatives to animal-based products and ingredients.

The firm offers a comprehensive accelerator program that spans five months, providing startups with industry knowledge, resources, and connections essential for growth. This program includes expert mentoring, funding opportunities up to $10 million, and access to a global network of investors, retailers, scientists, and journalists. Additionally, ProVeg Incubator offers in-kind services valued at $75,000, encompassing workshops, coaching sessions, and the use of facilities such as co-working spaces and test kitchens in Berlin.

Since its inception, ProVeg Incubator has supported over 100 startups from various countries, including Germany, India, Mexico, Chile, Israel, Indonesia, China, Australia, and New Zealand. These startups have collectively raised more than €230 million and have their products available in over 15,000 stores.
