He co-founded Hello Food in 2014, Uganda's first major online food delivery platform, which later became Jumia Food. Under his leadership, Jumia Uganda expanded significantly, and he played a pivotal role in Jumia's listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2019, marking a significant milestone for African tech companies. In 2022, Ron transitioned to lead Hugamara, a long-term holding company dedicated to founding, acquiring, and creating businesses across various sectors, including hospitality, green tech, renewable energy, microfinance, security, and logistics. Hugamara operates in Uganda, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, with a portfolio of 18 ventures. Ron also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Uganda Tourism Board and has been involved in initiatives promoting e-commerce and public policy in Uganda. He is married to Cynthia Tumwine, and they have one child together.
