SaskWorks Venture Fund Inc.

SaskWorks Venture Fund Inc. is a Saskatchewan-based retail mutual fund that invests in privately held small and medium-sized businesses owned or primarily operated in Saskatchewan. As a labour-sponsored venture capital corporation (LSVCC), investments in SaskWorks are eligible for a tax credit equal to 35% in addition to their RRSP tax deferral. Since its inception, the Fund has provided a unique opportunity for Saskatchewan residents to keep their investment dollars at home, helping to grow local companies and create jobs in the province.

The Fund's investment strategy focuses on sectors such as manufacturing, value-added agriculture, and energy. It offers two share classes: Diversified (Class A) and Resources (Class R), allowing investors to choose their preferred investment focus. SaskWorks has a long-term investment philosophy, aiming to invest in diverse, complementary businesses that perform well across unpredictable economic and market cycles. This approach has resulted in competitive portfolios that offer exposure to Saskatchewan's top economic drivers.

Since its inception, SaskWorks has raised over $735 million, invested $689 million, made 301 investments across 154 diverse companies, exited 103 companies, and generated total proceeds of $729 million, representing a gain to the fund of $351 million. These achievements underscore the Fund's commitment to fostering economic growth and job creation within Saskatchewan.
