Seafund is a Bengaluru-based venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments in deep-technology startups.

Founded in 2016 by Manoj Agarwal, Mayuresh Raut, and Narendra Bhandari, the firm began deploying capital from its maiden micro-fund in 2018, backing technology companies across India.

Seafund focuses on sectors such as semiconductors and electronics design, space technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, climate and mobility tech, advanced materials, and enterprise SaaS. The firm invests in seed and pre-Series A rounds, typically committing between ₹3 crore and ₹15 crore (approximately $300,000 to $1.5 million) per investment. Geographically, Seafund concentrates on India, with an emphasis on Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and other technology hubs. The firm is registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund.

Seafund's investment strategy involves hands-on, operator-led involvement, including board roles, customer introductions, and technical guidance. The firm reserves over 50% of each fund for follow-on rounds, providing patient capital through seed, Series A, and beyond. Advisors include former heads of India's Department of Science and Technology and senior banking-compliance executives, adding regulatory and market depth. As of April 2025, Seafund has made 24 investments, primarily in the seed stage, with 4 deals in the last year. Its diverse portfolio spans geographies, with a majority of investments in India and notable exits like Wigzo. Seafund recently led the $1.1 million seed round in Calligo Technologies, continuing its focus on innovation-driven sectors.

Seafund's founders have over 25 years of experience in data science, investments, technology, and startups, having worked with companies like GE, IBM, Novozymes, Karuturi, Pursuit & Consulting, Intel, Microsoft, Persistent, and Soroco. They hold degrees in material science, engineering, computer science, and finance, and are alumni of institutions such as INSEAD, Virginia Tech, BMS College of Engineering, Arizona State University, and RV College of Engineering.

Seafund operates exclusively out of its offices in Bengaluru and Delhi, India. The firm does not have any agency, association, collaboration, relationship, or solicitation partnership with any company, individual, body corporate, or entity and operates independently and solely under its own name.
