Investor Details Founded: 1981

Seavest Capital Partners is a diversified private investment management firm specializing in healthcare real estate and private equity investments. The firm has a long history of active investing in areas that have a positive and transformative cultural impact on society. Seavest distinguishes itself from other investment managers by being an active intermediary – an 'invested advisor' – with investors thoroughly aligned across all of its businesses in their principles and intent. As partners with investors, co-investors, operating companies, and real estate operating partners, Seavest is dedicated to creating value by building upon the strengths of the people, companies, and assets in which the firm is invested. Seavest provides a comprehensive capital solution for developers and operators serving the needs of healthcare providers. As strategic capital, Seavest helps its partners to compete effectively in the marketplace and to structure transactions meeting the latest market standards. Seavest seeks to build long-standing, supportive relationships with its partners with the goal of mutual success. The combination of an operator or developer vested in the community combined with a strong, focused capital partner has proven to be appealing to healthcare providers. Seavest has significant investments in healthcare real estate and growth-stage companies in the healthcare, education, and consumer technology and media sectors. Prior to founding Seavest Inc. in 1981, Mr. Segal was a partner at Cramer Rosenthal, and Co., and managed the firm's private investments. Mr. Segal has a long history of investing in real estate - specifically in healthcare properties. In 1988, he acquired controlling interest in MMBC, a medical real estate advisory firm, then owned by Avon Products Inc. From that acquisition he built Seavest Inc.’s healthcare real estate practice and portfolio. A past trustee of Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, NY, Mr. Segal currently serves on the Board of Trustees of New York Presbyterian Hospital and is a member of the Investment Committee as well as the Real Estate and Major Facilities Committees. He also serves on the Steering Committee of the Millstein Heart Center at the Hospital. Mr. Segal is also a member of the Board of the Whitney Museum of Art in New York City, where he serves on the Finance Committee. In addition, Mr. Segal serves as a Chairman of the Board of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, an international camp-based program established by actor Paul Newman to create positive recreational experiences for children with serious illnesses.
